There are no words to convey how quickly this first month has flown by. Anybody who knows me would know how much I like the Autumn Season, so I’m really looking forward to the next few months.
I have been fortunate enough to receive training from a member of the council tax team and the Non-Domestic Rates team who are great in their work. Getting training from someone who is knowledgeable and patient is extremely important. It has certainly given me the confidence to work on my own initiative. In the coming weeks I hope to embark on my IRRV course so that I can gain some further insight into revenue systems.
In terms of my personal development I’ve tried to find 3 things I’ve achieved and 3 things I need to improve on.
– Have basic understanding of council tax and non-domestic rates systems
– Networking with other council members
– Independent working
Work on it
– Communicate more effectively
– Don’t be afraid to ask for help
– Ask more questions
I hope for the next few months and as confidence grows I will be more comfortable asking more questions. Certainly with the team I’m in now that will definitely improve as they are always willing to help!
