The time has come to us to expand the Cynlluniau Yfory (Schemes of Tomorrow) team and offer further specialist jobs in a range of fields.
If you are interested in either the finance, registration or well-being (learning disabilities) fields – now is your chance to apply to become a specialist trainee in Gwynedd Council!
Applications for the Cynlluniau Yfory 2019 posts can be made up until 13/02/2019, therefore now is the time for you to complete the application form. Here are some tips, from my experience, on how to go about completing the application form.
TIP 1 – READ THE INFORMATION PACK
The information pack is full of information regarding the specialist trainee’s role so first of all please read this pack, not only to ensure that you are eligible to apply, but that you also fully understand the role of a trainee and your specialist field, and so that you can tailor your response to what is required of you.
TIP 2 – FOLLOW THE GUIDANCE
The Council has created a guidance booklet on completing the application form. Read this guide carefully before starting to ensure that you know what information needs to be included under each heading in the application form.
TIP 3 – PART 8 OF THE APPLICATION FORM ‘FURTHER PARTICULARS’
There is an opportunity for you to elaborate some more in part 8 of the application form ‘Further Particulars’. In this part you will be expected to give examples of how your skills, knowledge and experiences meet the requirements of ‘Person Specification’.
Specific guidelines have been made for this part – make sure you read this guidance.
Also, make sure that your response follows the correct structure and is within the word count, writing clearly and concisely.
TIP 4 – TIME
Remember to allocate enough time to complete your application. There will be a two-week application period for the vacancies so there is plenty of time for you to think about what you will include in your application and then complete and submit your application form.
TIP 5 – DRAFTING
Make sure you read over your application thoroughly before submitting it to ensure you are happy with it, that the language is correct and that you have answered the questions that are asked of you. You may also wish to ask someone else, such as a member of your family or friend, to proof read your application.
It may be easier for you to draft the content of your application on paper or in another document before writing it in the application form.
TIP 6 – COMPREHENSIVE APPLICATION
Do not assume that the appointment panel will be aware of your qualifications, experiences and abilities – make sure you refer to any of these that are relevant and you wish to highlight.
TIP 7 – ASK
If you have a question regarding the job or application process, please contact us and we will do our best to assist you.
Good with your application!
