The first week as a Professional Trainee has really flown by! It was a week full of interesting people and new experiences, and gave me a real taste of what is to come in the next couple of years within Cynllun Yfory. I started the week at Y Galeri in Caernarfon, where I had the opportunity to meet all the other trainees and get an overview of the scheme presented by Alun and Meilir. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to see everyone face to face before taking all my equipment home and setting up a small office in my spare bedroom! After getting to know a little bit more about the other trainees, we had an enthusiastic presentation, leaving me feeling really excited to be part of such a diverse scheme that is full of great opportunities. After receiving details of the Council and a taste of what's to come, we had a great lunch in the gallery, chatting and finding out more about everyone else. I'm so excited to be working with such an ambitious group of trainees, with a vast variety of different experiences to share! After stuffing ourselves with tasty lunch, we went up to receive our equipment ready to go home. I had the opportunity to talk to my line manager, Alun, and found out that he would be working on the organisation's Learning and Development Team. The next few days were full of interesting talks and meetings with the rest of the team, and by the end, I feel part of something special, it is a privilege to have such a wonderful opportunity, and more importantly, to help the people of Gwynedd. There are exciting projects in the pipeline, and I feel completely ready to go ahead and work hard on these! Reflecting on a Friday afternoon, this has been a fab week, and has confirmed to me that I made the right decision all those months ago to go for it and apply for the scheme. Time for a cocktail to celebrate a great week, I'll catch up with you soon! Cheers!
